hanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, was the first Free Trade Zone to be established in China. It is situated in the North East of Pudong District, near the end of Metro Line 6. It was incorporated as part of the newly developed China Pilot Free-Trade Zone in 2013 and mostly built-out by 2018. The overall concept of the Waigaoqaio Mater Plan was to include a main central retail village district. As a horizontal meandering village, the retail buildings allow for the first lines brands to shine through large, beautiful shopfronts expressing the brands message clearly to patrons who visit the retail village. With a new experience around every corner the commercial rational design of Waigaoqiao has been very financially successful for the developers.
