Shanghai Link

SMG is one of China’s largest media and cultural conglomerates, with the most complete portfolio of media and related businesses.  SMG asked Gensler and Jun Xia to design a mixed-use entertainment master plan that would compete with the neighboring DreamWorks media district on the south Bund area in Shanghai.

What the team developed was a series of districts all linked with a pedestrian sky bridge, each plot with a different focus, tech, hospitality, financial, retail and at the center would be the new some of SMG headquarters.  With over 10 hectares of prime land and over 1,300,000 square meters of programed space this truly is a mega project.
