GAERKY CREEK
Location: Ashland, Oregon
Site Area: 5.3 acres
Building Area: 4,320 sf
As remodel with one wall standing to avoid pulling permits as a new build this project doubled in size and also became exactly what the family with 3 children had intended for it. The two car portico and large great room/kitchen create a stunning first impression, but as you wonder deeper into the plan, the living quarters are sprinkled through in private areas while allowing massive entertainments spaces to take advantage of the neighboring Mount Ashland view from across the valley.
Above the 3 car garage at the south end of the plan is a “look out room” a place to chill out, read a book or the kids can have sleep overs in this space while giving out at the 320 degree panoramic views. Off the kitchen to the rear of the house opens up to a traditional courtyard with artificial turf play field for
entertainment.
This project was a collaboration, an undertaking of maximizing the full potential of existing infrastructure and also connecting the home to a growing family and to a site with plenty of opportunity.
